Vascular injuries

What can we achieve?

Procedures

Pain: Mild to moderate that is usually controlled by oral medications

Scars

In most cases we can repair the injury through the same wound that caused it, so very little extra scaring is expected.

If extra incisions are needed they will be planned to ensure the best aesthetic and functional outcome

More complex cases could require vascular grafting or flow-through free flaps that are taken from other areas of the body aside from the injured one, resulting in extra scars

Recovery

Usually two weeks of rest and splint immobilization are needed.

Most activities can be resumed 2 months after surgery

Complex cases could require more than one surgery
