Microsurgery

What can we achieve?

Procedures

Pain: Mild to moderate

Scars

It is common that microsurgical procedures result in considerable scars in at least two areas of the body (the affected area and tissue donor area)

Resulting scars from microsurgical procedures are always placed in order not to interfere with the donor-area function

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that donor area scars can be concealed, resulting in visible scars.

Recovery.

Most cases will require at least 5 nights in hospital

Depending on the complexity of each case, incidence of complications can be as high as 50%, these cases usually need to stay in the hospital for a longer period.

Up to 20% of the cases may need more than one surgical procedure to be solved.

Commonly, patients will need some time in a formal rehabilitation program before resuming their normal activities.
