• To treat and prevent concurrent infections

• Surgical cleaning and debridement
• Direct wound closure
• Closure with flaps or grafts

Pain: Minimal to moderate

Scars

Depend on the size and location of the laceration and the chosen reconstructive procedure.

Resulting scars will be discussed with the patient

Recovery

Local wound care and medication

More complex cases could need in-patient care for some days and or additional surgery

In most cases, recovery can be expected in 2-4 weeks
