Procedures

Pain: Mild to moderate

Scars

Usually, scars are limited to the area of the hand.

Depending on the procedures, it is possible that tissue transfer from other parts of the body may be needed, resulting in a scar at the donor site (usually small and concealed).

More complex cases could result in considerable defects of the donor area. The pros and cons of the procedure will be discussed with each patient to best fit each individual patient´s needs

Recovery.

Most cases are outpatient procures or require a short-stay.

Complex cases could require a longer stay at hospital

Frequently, the hand needs to be splinted for some weeks 1-6 weeks depending on the case.

Patients usually require rehabilitation for several months after procedures.
