Procedures

• Static suspension procedures
• Reconstruction of deficient eyelid closure

Pain:

• Mild to moderate
• Pain depends on the reconstructive procedures chosen. It is usually well controlled by oral medication

Scars

Incisions are placed in concealed locations, most of the times scars are similar to those of a facelift procedure.

When a free functioning muscle transfer is performed, there will also be a scar on the donor area, which in most cases is on the inner aspect of the thigh.

Recovery

After static procedures patients should usually rest for two weeks.

After dynamic procedures patients should usually rest for three weeks.

According to the reconstructive strategy chosen, it is possible that more than one surgery is necessary.

After a free functioning muscle transfer, patients require some months of rehabilitation before they can appreciate the dynamic end-result.
