CONGENITAL HAND DEFECTS

What can we achieve?

Procedures

Pain

Mild to moderate

Scars

Usually, scars are limited to the area of the hand. More complex cases could need transferring some tissue from another part of the body, in which case, extra scars would result in the donor area.

Recovery

Most cases require the patient to be hospitalized for a few days after surgery.

It is common that patients require more than one procedure to achieve the best possible result

Most patients need a multidisciplinary treatment that includes a plastic surgeon, pediatrician and physiotherapist. Some cases need an orthopedic surgeon with expertise on forearm malformations to be involved as well.
